No one really expects a dental emergency. It’s hard to plan for it, but you can be as prepared as possible by doing the following:
- Have Our Numbers Ready: When you’re in an emergency, searching for a phone number wastes time and makes you feel panicked. Add our phone numbers to your contacts in your phone, or put them up on a sticky note where you’ll be able to see them.
- Practice Preventive Habits: Cavities are one of the most common reasons patients suddenly develop terrible toothaches and need a same-day appointment. Prevent cavities as much as possible by brushing twice a day and flossing once per day. Be sure to attend your regular appointments as well, so we can spot decay before it gets worse.
- Protect Teeth from Impacts: If you or a family member is active in sports, get a protective mouth guard or other appropriate safety equipment immediately. Ensure that teeth are covered when they could be struck by accident.
